Description
Dual Drivers. Greater Headroom. Shallow Depth.
THE19-2 SUB PRO PASSIVE SEALED SHALLOW is engineered for home cinemas and listening spaces that demand substantially greater output and dynamic headroom without sacrificing installation flexibility.
By combining two 19-inch drivers in a single enclosure only 265 mm/10.43 inches deep, THE19-2 delivers exceptional low-frequency capability while retaining the shallow form factor required for space-critical installations.
Each driver features an advanced carbonfiber/Rohacell® composite sandwich cone, powered by a high-strength neodymium motor with a 4-inch ultra-high-temperature voice coil. Independent half-space measurements record 138.5 dB peak SPL at 63 Hz and 138.3 dB at 100 Hz in accordance with CEA-2010-B.
At any given system output, the two drivers share the required displacement. This reduces the excursion demanded from each individual driver, increasing available headroom and helping to reduce distortion and dynamic compression during demanding musical and cinematic passages.
The result is exceptional low-frequency impact, control, and dynamic ease from a shallow cabinet, ideal for installations in which conventional deep subwoofer enclosures cannot be accommodated.
Short-Term Peak and Sustained Output Performance
In addition to short-burst CEA-2010-B measurements, THE19-2 is subjected to the same demanding CEA-2034-A stepped compression test.
Each test level is maintained for two minutes. The level is initially increased in 3 dB steps and then in 1 dB steps as the system approaches its maximum usable output.
This sustained procedure causes the voice coils and motor assemblies to reach significantly elevated temperatures. The resulting increase in voice-coil resistance reduces electrical power transfer and reveals the thermal power compression that occurs during prolonged high-output operation.
The test is terminated at 2 dB mean compression. Under these conditions, THE19-2 achieves a maximum usable continuous SPL of 122.0 dB and a corresponding peak SPL of 130.8 dB at 1 meter in half-space.
This sustained result is intentionally lower than the CEA-2010-B short-burst figure. It represents the output the system can maintain under substantial thermal loading rather than the higher level achievable during a brief tone burst.
Phase-Coherent Integration with Infrasonic Subwoofers
Like its sibling, THE19 SUB PRO PASSIVE SEALED SHALLOW*, THE19-2 can be combined with ASCENDO’s infrasonic subwoofers, including THE24, THE28, THE32, THE64, and THE100.
When correctly filtered, time-aligned, equalized, polarity-checked, and level-matched, the systems integrate phase coherently across their respective operating ranges. This produces a seamless transition from infrasonic to low frequencies while preserving the precision, impact, and musical coherence of the complete system.
*For installations in which the output capability of a single 19-inch driver is sufficient, THE19 provides the same shallow-depth concept and advanced driver technology in a more compact single-driver configuration.

Recommended Amplification
DSP and Amplifier Channels
Two independent amplifier channels are required, with one amplifier channel driving each 4 Ω woofer separately. One shared DSP processing path may feed both channels when identical processing is required; two independent DSP channels may be used for individual control, monitoring, or limiting.
Minimum Recommended Amplifier Capability
Per amplifier channel: 89 Vrms 126 Vpk 22.5 Arms Equivalent to approximately 2,000 W into 4 Ω Complete system: two channels, approximately 2,000 W into 4 Ω each.
Recommended ASCENDO Electronics
DSP4-10K2 DSP4-6602 DSP-4 D with AIA2-10K2 IS
Configuration Notes
The two drivers should not normally be connected in parallel as a 2 Ω load. Independent drive preserves greater effective electrical damping, reduces the influence of cable resistance, avoids the higher current demand of a 2 Ω load, and allows correct individual RMS and peak limiting. Correct RMS and peak limiter settings must be applied to each amplifier channel.
